A heritage of Cretan hospitality
Founded in 1988 with the opening of the family-owned Kakkos Bay, Kakkos Collection Hotels was created from a deep love for Cretan hospitality. Before becoming a hotel, the property was the family’s summer home, known for warm gatherings that drew friends and locals from Ierapetra and Heraklion. The beautyful cove soon became known as Kakkos Beach, named after the family who welcomed visitors with genuine care.
Seeing the bay’s potential, the family gradually transformed their retreat into a small hotel and a traditional Cretan tavern and gradualy the resort expanded while staying true to its values of authenticity, hospitality, and respect for the land.
Today, the collection includes three 5 star resorts and a team of over 170 professionals offering refined, conscious luxury in Crete.

Looking ahead, Kakkos Collection Hotels is expanding to Athens with a new 32-room boutique hotel in Kolonaki, opening in June 2026 in collaboration with Fragman. We bring the concept of slow living in Crete to the city, offering the same spirit found on our 5-star island resorts.
